Executive Management

Fraunhofer Singapore Research Ltd is a legally independent affiliate of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.  It is the 8th affiliate of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft outside Germany and 1st in Asia. It acts as headquarter for all Singapore-based Fraunhofer research centres and opens the door to the Fraunhofer network.

It is planned to extend its engagement by further collaborative research centres together with our local partners in areas with established high-quality research.

As a Fraunhofer affiliate, we perform professional, application-oriented research and development services for and with, the industry. Fraunhofer also has a significant training mission and hosts and offers a large number of professional trainings and certification courses. 

Michael Kasper is CEO of Fraunhofer Singapore and Executive Manager of the Centre for Applied and Integrated Security (FSR-CAIS) since April 2022. His primary mission is to support the development of Fraunhofer in Singapore and to intertwine the activities carried out in conjunction with Germany's Fraunhofer Partner Institutes.  

Michael has been working for the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft since 2005 with more than 17-year professional experience in applied research and translational science. He joined Fraunhofer Singapore as a research fellow and has served as Department Director for Cyber and Information Security since January 2018.  

He supports governmental, academic, and industrial initiatives on an operational and strategical level with his expertise.
