This changes how businesses operate, impacting the ways nations are governed and how people live. It transforms every sector and are forming entirely new opportunities, e.g. in Industrie 4.0, smart transportation, and smart health, and smart living for example. By doing so, society of the future will create new values and new smart services are created continuously, making people’s lives more comfortable and sustainable. These new technologies will help us to do many great things, to be better connected, to work more efficiently, and to improve our lives, creating better economic opportunities and building a closer community.

However, many new risks emerge with digital transformation, whereby cyber security becomes one of the basic prerequisites for resilient and successful digitalization. In this context, it is critical to understand the potential security vulnerabilities and threats, as well as to develop security architectures and defensive mechanisms for smart societies

At Fraunhofer Singapore, we are working on the elements for securing and protecting digital technologies and services to help organisations in Singapore thrive in this new smart environment. We are an interdisciplinary research team with a strong focus on current and upcoming challenges in cyber- and information security, trust and privacy. We are creating knowledge, transferring skills, providing solutions and developing services to confront the persistent gaps and challenges of digitalization, and we develop responsible effective technologies to build a secure and prosperous digital future for all of us. We investigate and establish means for security, privacy and trust for more robust and resilient CPS and IIOT.


Security Immune Systems

We deliver dedicated research on next generation collaborative threat intelligence, adaptive and self-defending cyber defense technologies for Industrial systems and CPS infrastructures.


Robust Artificial Intelligence

AI is complex to understand and trust. We research on fundaments and practical solutions for robust AI and AI forensics. We investigate threats from Adversarial ML and develop protection mechansims. 


Future Cryptography and PQC

Our research addresses design, implementation and evaluation of efficient side-channel resistant and quantum-safe cryptographic building blocks for embedded and industrial application. 


Secure Smart Services and Digital Trust

We work on questions on how to make smart services and digital service architectures and its industrial adoption more trustworthy and secure. 

International Cyber Strategy and Innovation

We provide an international forum to explore the critical cybersecurity challenges and opportunities faced by Singapores and Germanys society.
