Job Description

 

We invite applications for Research Engineer/Associate positions for immediate intake to work in the area of Human-Computer Interaction. In particular, successful candidates will conduct research and development on Electroencephalogram (EEG) based software systems in order to apply them in human factors study, neuroergonomics, visual analytics, etc. Fraunhofer IDM@NTU offers state of the art research facilities and access to top equipment and provides a vibrant and solution driven research environment. There is possibility to do part-time PhD during working on different projects.

 

Job Requirements

 

Candidates for Research Fellow should hold a PhD degree in Computer Science or similar with research experience in human-computer interfaces development, EEG and/or eye tracking with strong programming skills. For the position of Research Engineer/Associate, candidates should hold a good Bachelor and/or Master degree with experience in human-computer interfaces with strong programming skills.  Applicants should attest their experience in these areas by software projects development experience, publications in top level journals and conferences (for Research Fellow position), patents (if any), internships, or similar.

Responsibilities

 

Research and software development in human-computer interaction systems with 2D and 3D graphical user interfaces

Publication of results in top journals and conferences

Presentation of results at conferences, in-house events, workshops etc.

 

Required skills

 

Proficient in C++ programming, Java, Python, etc. and software development

Experienced with TCP socket programming in C/C++/Java/Python

Ability to design graphical user interface (MFC/QT/C#/.NET).

Basic experience in SQL or database management

Highly motivated and committed to conduct both research and development

Ability to deliver in time and to meet milestones Fluent in English (written and verbal) Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

Preferred Skills (not required but will be plus)

 

Experience with EEG hardware, MATLAB, AI and deep learning techniques

Familiar with real time human-machine interaction software like eye tracking or human gestures

Game engines UDK, Unity
