Since year 2010, we support and coordinate two joint PhD degree programmes: NTU — Technische Universitaet Darmstadt, Germany (TU Darmstadt) and NTU — Graz University of Technology, Austria (TU Graz). The two programmes offer opportunities to promising scientists and scholars to foster interactions between the three world class Universities in the area of interactive digital media. The principal areas of focus are Real-time Rendering, Virtual & Augmented Reality, Visual Analytics, Medical Computing, Haptics, and Human-Computer Interaction. The 4-years scholarships provided jointly by NTU and Fraunhofer IDM@NTU assume that the applicants become full-time PhD students of NTU as well as TU Darmstadt or TU Graz while having co-supervisors in NTU and TU Darmstadt or TU Graz, respectively. The NTU-based students will spent one year of their project in TU Darmstadt or TU Graz in the co-supervisor's lab. The TU Darmstadt and TU Graz-based students will be supported by TU Darmstadt and TU Graz PhD scholarships and also will need to spend one year at NTU in the co-supervisor's lab.
